Retro Nautical Wedding

I've always adored the whole vintage nautical look and this wedding here is full of it. Just look at those old Coca Cola crates, those bottles and those colors! (And while your looking, check out that gorgeous wedding dress.) I just think it all rocks.

Little Sailboats

I love these so much I even had a dream about them the other night. Really it is genius, they're salt and pepper shakers. Awesome right?

Nautical Tin Art

These lovely tin art pieces from Little Black Rabbit are just my style. So charmingly nautical. And all of them are made from vintage recycled tea tins. How cool is that?

Dream Kitchen

To me, this is like the perfect kitchen or like I said in the title, my dream kitchen. That rustic feel, that gorgeous blue, those walls, the built-in shelves, and that view! I'm in love.

My Favorite Places in the Outer Banks - Shipwreck

If it's beach-y, Shipwreck has it. Whatever the style, it's there. Filled with almost every type of shell, coral, sea star and the like you can imagine, tons of modal ships and lighthouses, fun hats, witty little signs, guide books, beach-y decor, drift wood, toys and so much more it's one of the best gift shops in the Outer Banks. Shipwreck was established in 1954 and has been around ever since. Proof it rocks and has rocked for decades. Definitely a place to check out while at the Outer Banks. Did I mention they even sold Hermit Crabs?

My Favorite Places in the Outer Banks - Sugar Creek Resturant

Once RV's, the Sugar Creek Restaurant is one of the treasures of the Outer Banks. Filled with great seafood, awesome decor, stunning views and a fun gift shop it's definitely a place to eat while at the Outer Banks. I can recommend pretty much everything but my favorites are the crab cake sandwiches, popcorn shrimp and of course for an appetizer, the clam chowder (Hatteras style).

P.S. Sorry there's no pictures of the food. I forgot all about it. Hopefully soon I'll come back with some though.

My Favorite Places in the Outer Banks - Roanoke Heritage Extended

Fondly known as "Jeremy's" to us, Roanoke Heritage Extended is one of the places you won't want to miss when at the Outer Banks. Filled with every beach find from drift wood to lucky sea beans plus beautiful jewelry, handmade wreaths made with beautiful beach finds, great puzzles, an awesome selection of handmade Outer Banks soaps, Lego's and way more, this place has it all. And Jeremy Bliven, the shop owner is so nice and friendly, not to mention a locally famed children's author. If you have kids, don't leave without getting a copy of "Captain Stumpy The Pirate Cat," written by Jeremy Bliven and illustrated by his father Herbert Bliven.

My Favorite Places in the Outer Banks - Foreword

First off I must say that the Outer Banks is definitely one of my favorite places on earth and I'd recommend a vacation there to anyone. It's filled with beautiful beaches, tons of lighthouses, great stores, awesome restaurants and an overall amazing atmosphere. I can't recommend going there enough. Now, as for this mini series. As before mentioned it will be all about my favorite places in the Outer Banks, the places I say you must see if you go on a vacation there. Starting tomorrow folks. I can't wait!

The Over-the-Top, Blows-Your-Mind, Totally Awesome Icelandic Home By The Sea

Wow, this is truthfully one of the coolest places for a house to be that I've seen. Just perched on a cliff like that. Rockin'! Wouldn't that be such an awesome place to live in? So beautiful and so fun. Just look at all that open land. Elliðaey, the southern island in Iceland is now defiantly on my list of places to see one day.

P.S. I wonder what sunsets and sunrises would look like from here?

Fun Nautical Plates

I think I love just about all of the plates on Daytrip Society but I'm pretty sure these Thomas Paul ones here are my favorites. Each one of the four is stunning. And right up my alley. So very, very nautical. The rest of the shop rocks too by the way.

And You Can Put Stuff In It Too

I'm really loving this adorable Townsend Coffee Table from Pottery Barn. It's so pretty and it's such a lovely idea. It's like a shadow box that's a coffee table. And it doesn't have to be just merely decorative either. I think it could also be very functional. Just think of the things you could store in it. I wonder what I would put in it if I had one.

A House by the Sea

I'm totally in love with this beautiful 105-year-old Rhode Island house called Clingstone. Isn't it amazing!? And the scenery is the same, is it not?

Henry Wood, the owner is a 81-year-old Boston architect who bought the house with his ex-wife Joan in 1961 for $3,600. It had been empty for two decades! It's hard to believe that a house that beautiful could have ever been empty, isn't it?

Anyway, Mr. Wood has now restored it beautifully and thankfully now it's filled again. Lucky people.
