Have a Perfectly Lovely Weekend!

Hello dears and happy Friday. I hope your week was filled with wonderfulness and inspiration. Mine was a little low on the latter but I'm hoping that a nice weekend will turn things around. I'll watch a few movies (perhaps Bringing Up Baby), sing a lot of things out loud and dress in some of my favorite bright, unique, funky clothes. Meanwhile a few links...

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

I had a Wizard of Oz party one year when I was little. Like a lot of children that age I was obsessed with the movie and anything that had anything to do with it. I knew the songs and dialog by heart, wore the ruby slippers constantly and of course went as Dorthy one Halloween (or was it two?). I still remember how much fun the party we had was and I think I'll always regard it as one of the coolest birthday parties we've had at our house. But I'm super crazy for this one here too. I mean really, how cute! I bet all those lucky little girls had a ball.

The Golden Age of Hollywood

Oh my goodness, I think I could stay on this awesome blog for hours (and in fact I think it was just about that when I was on yesterday). If your a follower of mine than you know how much of a fan I am of classic movies and all the old movie stars, so of course, this blog fits me to a tee (gee, where'd I get that?) because it's filled with all kinds of awesome pictures of people like Carole Lombard, Ginger Rogers, James Stewart, Gene Kelly, Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Lauren Bacall, Fred Astaire, Irene Dunne, Cary Grant, Vivien Leigh, Henry Fonda, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Julie Andrews, Paul Newman, Alfred Hitchcock (!!!), Clark Gable and Lucille Ball (there's tons of pictures of her because the author, she's like a huge fan). Seriously, it rocks.

Passengers on Stopped Roller Coaster Sing Do-Re-Mi While Waiting For Ride to Begin Again

The other day when we were at Busch Gardens the Loch Ness Monster was stopped in mid-climb to the first hill. But you know, the first thing that came to my mind was, "what if they all started singing." I mean really, wouldn't that just be so neat. Something everybody knew like a Sound of Music tune or a Singin' in the Rain one, something like that.

I wish we were all more like that though. Little things like that would just make this world such a better place to be in. And I think most of us are people that would do something like that too. In fact everybody on that roller coaster really might have started singing like that if somebody would have just gotten everybody started. Who knows. But then, it's just a fun thought I guess.

P.S. Can you believe I was finally able to get a video on here? If it continues (as I really hope it will) get ready for video week friends.

I Could Get Into This Guy

I just finished reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks and I have to say, it was really good. And believe it or not but it was the first book by him I've ever read. I don't think it'll be my last though, if the rest of his books are like this. I think I can now see why he's so popular.

I'll admit there were a few things in it I didn't like so much, some cursing for instance but overall it was a really good book. I'm now counting down the days until the movie comes out. If it's anywhere near as good as the book I think it might end up being a new favorite.

I can't get over this awesome photo set! Every photo is one of a "The End" from a movie. (And the photographer watched every one of them too.) What a great and unique idea! What do you think?

Inspiration From "The Bicycle Thief"

I just watched The Bicycle Thief the other night and while it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen it was still pretty good. I wasn't very fond of the sad ending though. Have any of you ever seen it?

Anyhow, although as I say I wasn't very happy with the movie, I must say it really inspired me to start ridding my bicycle more often once I feel better. I don't think I've done that in about six months. (Yes, it's been that long, if not longer.)



P.S. It also inspired me to start making and eating mozzarella bread more often. Doesn't that sound good?
