Weekend Plans

I think a little bit of yard sale-ing is definitely a necessity for this weekend (okay, so not a necessity, but close to it), especially after seeing these gorgeous pictures from Gemma Booth. And after the other week, scoring 100+ cool records for $5 at a yard sale - well, you know, that helps too.

Back In The Swing of Things

Hello all! Just wanted to let you know I am so very sorry that March did not bring with it posting full time like I had hoped but things are still a little busy. For now I'm going to be trying to post on Mondays (doing Music Monday and regular posts) and on Wednesdays (doing Words of Wisdom and a regular post there too) and possibly on Fridays. So be checking back each week, I'll be sure to have something for you!

Birthday Wish List

My birthday is in a few days and I thought it might be fun to make a wish list, just something with a few cool things I've been wanting lately. Thankfully though, I have some wonderful, amazing grandparents who knew exactly what I really wanted most of all. They donated $70 to the brilliant organization Samaritan's Purse for me. How cool is that!? (And because I know you guys are reading this, thanks.) Now if I can just get everybody to do this for me for Christmas.
1. Help! dvd 2. What Lies Beneath dvd 3. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix on vinyl. 4. Swingin' Chicks of the '60s book (it has Diana Rigg!) 5. Canon AE-1 35mm Camera

A Vacation

Well folks, I think I've decided I need a nice break from the blog this winter. School work is piling up and priorities need to be put in order. I'm just going to be too busy to do this full time. I'll be here every once in a while though. Just not everyday. And I hope to be back in full swing sometime in March, hopefully with better-than-ever posts. So long for now.

New Bicycle
All right, I promised I'd show you that bicycle I was telling you all about earlier so I guess I must. It's not that I'm not super excited about it, it's just I have yet to get any really good pictures of it. But this will just have to work.
It has a pretty awesome story behind it, this bike. I'm still sort of in shock about finding it, I guess I'm just lucky. You see, my mom and I were thrift store shopping and just as we were about to leave the store my mom spotted this. She, of course, got super excited and pulled me over to where it was. And it was just what I had been looking for. (You see, before this I really had no bike.) Vintage, my size, super rad looking, you get the idea. And not only that but it was at a thrift store, a place noted for it's low prices. It ended up being only $40, imagine that?

Republic of Tea

I've been feeling pretty under the weather this week and with that for me comes lots and lots of hot tea. It does so much for you when your sick so it's like all I drink. Lately Republic of Tea's Chamomile Lemon has been my favorite. It is so good.

About Notebooks

I love notebooks. Really, whenever I'm in a store where there's journals or notebooks of any kind I always have to look. And pretty much every time that happens I at least find one I love. These lovely notebooks from Natalie as is are one of those. They make me wish I hand wrote more often. Because right now, I don't. I really need to get out of that.

So, What Do You Think?
At this point, I feel like celebrating. I'm so glad all that's over and I'm super happy about the results! I think A Million Parachutes is such a better name for this blog. What do you guys think?

A Change of Season, A Change of Name
Certain thoughs have been going around in my mind for some time now. I've been having serious regrets about the name I gave my blog that one chilly day last December. Despite what I wrote in that post that day I don't think I was ever really crazy about the name. I feel horrible changing it now, like one of those teenagers who changes their blog name once a week, but I know if I don't do it now I never will. I feel absolutely confident in my new and very permanent, I assure you, title for this blog. Another Sixpence None The Richer song (they have the best titles) but one I feel is much more suited for this blog. The name however will be a surprise, you'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see it. Oh yeah, and since the blog name is changing the URL will be changed too, but all you'll have to do it type in the regular URL and you'll be redirected. Thanks!

APC Fall Collection
.jpg)
Can you believe it's already time to start talking about fall collections? I'm both excited and sad about this. Excited because autumn is my favorite beyond favorite time of year and I'm so looking forward to it, a little sad because I've really been enjoying summer and I kind of don't want to see it go (plus I have yet to have all the picnics I originally wanted to have nor worn all of the sundresses I had planed to wear).
But however, as I said before, autumn is very good and I'm totally looking forward to it. And not only because of the season itself but also for the clothes we all finally get to wear. Like the stuff in APC's Fall collection here. Isn't it stunning? I especially love the velvet pants and shorts and those tops the models are wearing them with. But really I think everything's great.

My Independence Day
Of course where else but Colonial Williamsburg would a person like me be on Independence Day? Such a lover of the place that I am. But truthfuly we were considering going to the Outer Banks again but decided against it for various reasons. I was definitely happy to stay here though. And I sure am glad we did. Last weekend was a blast! Here's some pictures from my Independence Day. I hope yours was outstanding. (And I'm sorry there's no firework pictures. My camera just would not cooperate. I got pleantly of video though. More of that to come - I hope.)

Passengers on Stopped Roller Coaster Sing Do-Re-Mi While Waiting For Ride to Begin Again
The other day when we were at Busch Gardens the Loch Ness Monster was stopped in mid-climb to the first hill. But you know, the first thing that came to my mind was, "what if they all started singing." I mean really, wouldn't that just be so neat. Something everybody knew like a Sound of Music tune or a Singin' in the Rain one, something like that.
I wish we were all more like that though. Little things like that would just make this world such a better place to be in. And I think most of us are people that would do something like that too. In fact everybody on that roller coaster really might have started singing like that if somebody would have just gotten everybody started. Who knows. But then, it's just a fun thought I guess.
P.S. Can you believe I was finally able to get a video on here? If it continues (as I really hope it will) get ready for video week friends.

So in Hopes

The other day I tried honey for the first time in years. Truthfully I had forgotten how it tasted. I was so in hopes that I'd love it and that it would be a good change from the normal of putting jelly on my toast when I have it in the morning. But it was just too sweet. I mean, I'd eat it if I had too but it's just not my thing. At least I can still have the little bear bottle around. It's so cute. Do you like honey?

Fresh Flowers
The other day we came home from the grocery store with some beautiful peonies and statice. Now I just can't stop looking them (and smelling them too of course). They're just so pretty, especially together. And I think my mom arranged them perfectly. Don't you?
It's so nice having fresh flowers in the house though. For a while there we always had some around but after a time we just stopped. Maybe we can start up again now or at least have them around more often that we have been having them. Gotta love those fresh flowers.

I Did It!

I finally got on a bicycle after hardly touching one for around eight or nine months today. Yeah I'm almost surprised that I still knew how to do it. I did though and it felt awesome! In fact, it felt so awesome that I've already done it twice today. Once this morning and once this afternoon. Do you enjoy bicycling?

"When will you and Daddy be back?"

This lovely picture from flickr was taken just as the parents were about to leave and the babysitter arrive. Do you all remember that feeling? I do.
My poor little brother was going through this earlier today. He's really been freaking out every time my mom leaves now that my dad is gone on the weekdays. Today as my mom was leaving the poor little guy was crying and asked about fifteen times when she was coming home. He's finally settled down now though and is watching Joey with my grandma.
