My Corner of the World In August
Ah Crape Myrtle trees! I keep forgetting how long they last and also how much I love them. What would a Virginian summer be without them? Other August favorites include more Black-eyed Susans and more of the ultimate they-last-forever flower, the Trumpet Flower. And of course, it's not just about the flowers. There's that warm weather, picking tomatoes, buzzing bumble bees, sweet summer rainstorms, singing cicadas, dragonflies, all kinds of wonderful summer stuff. Still though I'm very happy September's here.

My Corner of The World in July
Okay, first of all I am very sorry this is so late. The reason is a pretty long story. You see, I thought I had lost all of my photos from July when my computer crashed (and kept forgetting to mention that) but as it turned out some of the pictures on my camera where taken in July. Only I didn't know that until I took them all off of my camera the other day. So I didn't even bother to take all of the pictures off before. So, once again, I'm very sorry and next month (which isn't far away now) I'll be sure to post the "My Corner of the World In" for August on either the first or the second.

P.S. No street picture! I'm devastated. This is two months now that don't have one for, February and now July. Oh well, maybe next year I'll get it all right.

Colorful Bedroom

I love this super awesome summer-y bedroom. I think I could spend hours in there. So colorful, bright and happy and yet at the same time calm and relazing. It's perfect.

A Dream Vacation

Oh my, can you just imagine vacationing here for a few weeks? This adorable little cottage tucked away in the Isle of Wight is most likely going to be in my day dreams constantly for weeks. My goodness, it even has a porch with a view of the sea. What more could you ask for?
You could read for hours on the porch or inside on the rocking chair; write letters and journal entries on the lovely desk by the window; do a little bird watching outside on the beach, in the little forest that surrounds the place or even from the big, beautiful windows inside or even fall asleep into an afternoon nap listening to the birds sing outside and the distant sound of the waves beyond. See, I'm already daydreaming.

My Corner of the World in June
Firstly, I'm so sorry that this is so late. We're already a week into July. I must start remembering. Anyhow, this June was an fantastic month here in my corner of the world. Plenty of Black-eyed Susans, blooming Crape Myrtle trees, Coneflowers, sunflowers, hydrangea, magnolia and lavender. I even spotted some late-blooming Wisteria! Aside from the flowers there was also big blue skies, green trees and lots of beautiful birds. Here's some pictures from the beautiful month.

Happy First Day of Summer!

Wow, believe it or not but I just realized today is the first day of summer. I've just been so busy that I forgot all about it. So happy summer, guys! Sorry it's so late.
Funny, I'm usually not that excited about summer but for some reason this year I have been and real I'm happy that it's here. I don't even mind that it's taken my wonderful and beautiful spring away. Because for one thing I think this year I really got my share of that season. I was out constantly, I almost always had the windows open so I could hear the birds, I took a gazillion pictures to capture it all that way and the whole time I was really drinking it all in. I don't think I could have experienced it any more than I did this year.
And also, as I said, I'm looking forward to summer. The smell of fresh cut grass, the awesome sounds of crickets and cicadas, outstandingly gorgeous summer flowers (like one of my new favorites, Black-eyed Susans), trips to the beach, fully green trees, blue skies, puffy clouds, perfect picnics and that overwhelming and beautiful sense of summer. It sounds great.

Colorful Scarf

Right now I'm on the search for some nice scarves for summer, mainly one that will go with my totally rad orange '60s dress and this one I think is perfect for the dress and all kinds of other stuff. Too bad it's out of my price range. (Don't you just hate having to end a post like that?)
