An Autumn Wedding

I've never particularly liked Autumn weddings (though Autumn is by far my favorite season, don't ask me why I've just never liked weddings in that season) but this one of Emily and Colby is a true exception. I mean, if I were every going to have a wedding in Autumn it would definitely be something like this. For one thing it's very nature oriented and so incorporating all the beautiful colors of the season. Also I just love the place it was held in, so rustic and totally awesome.

Colorful Shoes

Oh my, wouldn't these be so much fun to wear? So colorful and happy. And I think they'd look great with just about anything. A white skirt, jeans, cargo pants, whatever. I will say though I don't like that they both don't exactly match. But still I definitely wouldn't mind owning a pair.

Nail Polish Art

I used to have a nail polish art book when I was little. I adored it. I looked through it all the time and probably tried half of the designs in the book. (I still remember the little pigs I painted onto my toes!) I suppose that love for nail art never really left because I love these. I wish I had the hand to do that myself but unfortunately I definitely don't. Oh well, it's still fun to look at.

Links for the Weekend (I Hope Yours is Grand!)

So, what are your plans for the weekend friends? I'm going to be watching movies with my dad and grandma, taking bike rides, trying to get my new computer all ready (it's really taking forever), catching up on my reading and maybe even trying some new recipes. Oh, it'll be fun.

Meeting new people.

I love the idea of s'mores at a wedding.

Summer shoes.

Oh boy, I need to go out to Forreston, Texas now. This place sounds awesome.

I can't get over this amazing outfit. I'm so going to have to try and re-create it.

I've always been a sucker for journals but aren't these pretty understandable?

Gee, he really does look like Wallace Shawn.

I usually don't like the modern homes so much but this one is an exception.

What a neat comparison!

This must have been so much fun.

Lace-inspired.

Wildflower gardens.

This is beautiful.

An unusual McDonald's (with a cool story to go with it).

And an outstandingly cool chair to end the list.

The Golden Age of Hollywood

Oh my goodness, I think I could stay on this awesome blog for hours (and in fact I think it was just about that when I was on yesterday). If your a follower of mine than you know how much of a fan I am of classic movies and all the old movie stars, so of course, this blog fits me to a tee (gee, where'd I get that?) because it's filled with all kinds of awesome pictures of people like Carole Lombard, Ginger Rogers, James Stewart, Gene Kelly, Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Lauren Bacall, Fred Astaire, Irene Dunne, Cary Grant, Vivien Leigh, Henry Fonda, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Julie Andrews, Paul Newman, Alfred Hitchcock (!!!), Clark Gable and Lucille Ball (there's tons of pictures of her because the author, she's like a huge fan). Seriously, it rocks.

The Little Things That Make it Fun To Be a Girl

Ever since I first saw this picture, I couldn't get it off of my mind. I just adore it. Something so simple as putting lipstick on can just be so beautiful and awesome, can't it? Ah, this is why I love being a girl.

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello

Awesome! A book that combines some of my favorite things all together. History, architecture, Virginia, gardening, home design and photography. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Already I want to dig my nose into it.

Amazon.com Says: "Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is a superb collection of essays, adorned with beautiful color photography, that showcases this American treasure. Designed by Jefferson himself, Monticello is a model of elegance and symmetry. It is also home to Jefferson's world-class collection of art and porcelain from France, scientific instruments from England, the finest American furniture from Philadelphia and New York, and enduring furnishings made in Monticello's own joinery by enslaved craftsmen. The celebrated gardens and grounds form an experimental yet breathtakingly lovely landscape featuring flowers, fruits, and vegetables of the Old and New Worlds."

This is definitely on my wish list now.

Very Clever

This is just too cool.

Happy First Day of Summer!

Wow, believe it or not but I just realized today is the first day of summer. I've just been so busy that I forgot all about it. So happy summer, guys! Sorry it's so late.

Funny, I'm usually not that excited about summer but for some reason this year I have been and real I'm happy that it's here. I don't even mind that it's taken my wonderful and beautiful spring away. Because for one thing I think this year I really got my share of that season. I was out constantly, I almost always had the windows open so I could hear the birds, I took a gazillion pictures to capture it all that way and the whole time I was really drinking it all in. I don't think I could have experienced it any more than I did this year.

And also, as I said, I'm looking forward to summer. The smell of fresh cut grass, the awesome sounds of crickets and cicadas, outstandingly gorgeous summer flowers (like one of my new favorites, Black-eyed Susans), trips to the beach, fully green trees, blue skies, puffy clouds, perfect picnics and that overwhelming and beautiful sense of summer. It sounds great.

Colorful Scarf

Right now I'm on the search for some nice scarves for summer, mainly one that will go with my totally rad orange '60s dress and this one I think is perfect for the dress and all kinds of other stuff. Too bad it's out of my price range. (Don't you just hate having to end a post like that?)

Links for the Father's Day Weekend (I Hope it's a Great One!)

Rock hopping

Man, if you thought 94 degrees was bad, how about almost 100? Yeah, well, this Sunday (another outdoor concert) that's just what it's going to be. Gee, I can't wait. But I think I'll be able to get though it because this concert is going to rock! The Afters, Bluetree (a band I don't know that well but am looking forward to getting to know) and Switchfoot! Yeah, I am so looking forward to this Sunday. What are your plans for the weekend?

I would so love to see her open up a shop, wouldn't you?

These are adorable.

What a perfect idea!

Ah, summer style inspiration.

And more style inspiration.

Just another reason to visit Ireland.

While I'm not really into sports so much, I still think this is very cool.

An adorable ring.

Okaaaay.

Oh, you just gotta love that vintage look the girl on the right is sporting.

And a seashell print to help with the oil spill.

Passengers on Stopped Roller Coaster Sing Do-Re-Mi While Waiting For Ride to Begin Again

The other day when we were at Busch Gardens the Loch Ness Monster was stopped in mid-climb to the first hill. But you know, the first thing that came to my mind was, "what if they all started singing." I mean really, wouldn't that just be so neat. Something everybody knew like a Sound of Music tune or a Singin' in the Rain one, something like that.

I wish we were all more like that though. Little things like that would just make this world such a better place to be in. And I think most of us are people that would do something like that too. In fact everybody on that roller coaster really might have started singing like that if somebody would have just gotten everybody started. Who knows. But then, it's just a fun thought I guess.

P.S. Can you believe I was finally able to get a video on here? If it continues (as I really hope it will) get ready for video week friends.

Summertime Hat

What a lovely summertime hat! Just imagine wearing this by the pool, on the beach, at a picnic, on a bike ride and so on. I think it's just fabulous. Don't you?

Colonial Nursery

I know I say it all the time but man, I just love Williamsburg. I think it's pretty safe to say that it's my favorite place in the world. So filled with beautiful architecture, outstanding gardens, history and just a wonderful atmosphere. It's just perfect to me. Oh how I long to live there one day. But at least I'm close. Anyhow, here are some pictures from the beautiful Colonial Nursery.

Links for the Weekend (I Hope Yours is Fantastic!)

Paris : Merci

Man, what a crazy week. That mini-series was harder than I thought it would be. I made so many mistakes, especially with the paring of the posts. So uneven. None on Monday but the Foreword, only one on Tuesday and then all the rest crammed into the last days. Well, it was my first mini-series so a lot of mistakes I guess were expected.

Anyhow, this weekend we're going to get to see Francesca Battistelli, Building 429 and Steven Curtis Chapman in concert! And at one of the most wonderful places for it to be, Busch Gardens. The only problem is that the weather is supposed to be around 94 with thunderstorms. Lets just hope that doesn't happen. What are your plans for the weekend.

I love these perfect stripes. So summer-y.

Yeah, surfer style.

I know I post a link to these every time a new one comes out, but they just rock, I can't help it.

Yes, please.

I'm so happy everything worked out so well.

These are just exquisite (I especially love the owls.)

A father's day gift guide. (I might just have to have one myself soon.)

What would you write on this.

I just have this thing for bicycles.

Camping, camping, camping!!!

And more camping.

How about this awesome wallpaper?

I usually hate the '90s style (and I do mean hate) but there's just something about these pants that I like.

Oh yeah, this is so perfect.

From above.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who's always wanted a tree house or some sort of hideaway.

Man I need to find myself a good striped top.

My Favorite Places in the Outer Banks - Kill Devil's

Some of the best ice cream in the world, hand-cut and never frozen beach fries (probably my favorite kind of french fries in the world), great juicy burgers, rockin' hot dogs, wraps and sandwiches adorn the menu of this Gem of the Outer Banks. Kill Devil's is defiantly a must-see (or an, ahem, must-eat). I mean, really, you can't go to the Outer Banks and not eat here at least once. Trust me.

P.S. Sorry there's once again no pictures of the food. Remember, I'm still learning.
